Default Widow and Great Blue Skimmers - Two Faves

I stopped by a local river yesterday on my way to somewhere else, and found these two dragonflies. Both are favorites of mine. The blue one I don't see very often, sometimes not for a year or more, so it is always nice to find one. The other can be abundant, but is one of the most photogenic ones around. There were lots of other ones also, but these were the best.

Great looking series of DFly shots Steve. Would love to see one of those blue ones, must be something to see in the sunshine.

Thanks Alex and jj. And jj; if you have any swampy areas check out the edges and see if you can find one hanging out on the tip of a low branch. They are very fine looking in real life.

Thanks. For numbers 2 and 4 I used my LC55, so somewhere around half a meter. For 1 and 3 somewhere between 1 and 3 meters. I used the tele macro setting.
