Thanks, now just have to wait until it arrives in the UK. I wonder when it's due here.

(Pre) ordering a FZ200 next week, most likely from B&H.

is B&H in the USA? Not heard of it so i guess so. What is the pre-order price? I have been told it's 500 here to pre-order which is $783.65.

Yes B&H is in the US. They have the pre-order price at $599. Not sure what they do with international orders.

Why the rush to buy a new model?, I am willing to bet you haven't used all the options on your present camera, and you can be sure the new one hasn't figured out how many sugars you take with your coffee.

LOL

Well, for me all I have right now to sate my need to take pictures (like this one) is a camera-phone. I was planning and saving for the FZ150 - and now it's discontinued, so I'll cough up another $100 for the FZ200. I really, really like these Panasonic/Leica lensed 'bridge' cameras - just perfect for me.

Speaking for myself; I'm in no rush, but plan on the FZ200, leaving my FZ40 as a backup. It's simply that the FZ200 is a nice step up from my FZ40, and one I will enjoy immensely!

P.S. I don't take sugar in my coffee, so the camera won't have to figure that one out!

had my mind all but set on a 150, now 9typically) the more i read the more i think i should get the 200, even if it's more than i was originally wanting to pay.
the thing that really infuriates me tho, is the price, as once again UK people get it up the butt : $599 in the US, apparently, which at the current rate (1 = $1.598) is 374. cheapest i've seen via google shopping is 460 ($730) and Panny Uk list it as 569 ($904).

i'd cheerfully pay around the 3704 mark but as for the other markup, they can go stick it. >:-/

Sadly the price of upgrading my fz100 to the latest or best superzoom has lead me to look elsewhere in the camera market. Found a brand new Nikon D5100 with a kit lens for less than an fz200. So i will probably keep the fz100 until i can afford more lenses but the price jump in the superzoom class is destroying a good market.
