Default St' Mary's Church, Tal-y-llyn, Anglesey.

On a new cycling route this morning- and came across this little gem in the middle of nowhere- and it was open..!
It has quite a history.... including the Black Death..!!

All shot with a TZ10- most in Manual mode....

Though old, very impressive and intact structure. Well captured. The flowers kept inside give the only clue that place is still alive.

Indeed... classic Medieval simplicity... and alive apparently once a month...!

Wales is a beautiful country (not just because my wife is welsh...her relatives live in Rhos on Sea and Anglesey). I've been there many times and traveled all over but never came across this little church. Where is it close to?

Nice captures BTW.

Hi Tullio- Wales certainly has it's beautiful areas and architecture.
This particular church is quite easy to find- even though I stumbled upon it by accident..!
Entering Anglesey via Menai Bridge- stay on the old A5 road- continuing on past Mona Showground- and just as you're about to enter Gwalchmai, take a left turn by a bus stop, and follow this old, quiet road, which cuts straight across Anglesey.
Stay on this road (don't take any right/left turns..!) for about 2-3 miles maybe (guessing,as I was on a bike !) and you'll see the Church on your left side- about 10 metres from the road.
If you click on the link at the top of this post you'll see a small map, showing it's location.

If old Churches,Burial Mounds,Ancient architecture,Neolithic mounds etc are your thing, Anglesey is the place to be..! You can literally trip over your laces falling from one antiquity to another..!

What a wonderful and charming place, inside and out!!! I love the first two, and #5 of the window. Very nice.

Thanks very much for the details about the location of this church, Simon. I'll make sure I take it with me next time I go to Wales.
