Default Macro half dollar

ben some comments on other boards about the macro on the FZ200 so i thought i'd try it on something other than a wind-wobbled flower.

dunno, seems ok to me, maybe people are too picky or just comparing the camera against things out of its league?

I think it should be sharper than that. Did you use tripod?

I notice that you used 1/20th at F 2.8, did you have the image stabilisation on?.
1/20th is a bit slow for hand held, depending on how steady you are I guess.

i'm still working my way around the features : i haven't set stabilisation so i dunno if it's on by default. TBH i just got curious over some of the comments on another forum, grabbed a coin and gave it a couple shots as the room was fairly bright enough. might sound a bit daft, but i dunno if the coin itself might contribute to the softness of the image - it is after all pretty old and not a crisply minted new one. i'll have a bit more play at the weekend, if i'm not in on overtime again :-(
