Default Zoom lens test for Panny FZ100

G'day all

Recently done a series of tests on the FZ100 that I thought some may like to look at - just to see where the superzoom / bridge camera lenses were up to

The target is a phone comms tower - distance away is "1x football oval + 1-1/2 city blocks" .... about 1/2-mile [ 500-700metres]

1- 1x zoom ~ 28mm in full-frame terms

2- 3x zoom ~ 90mm in full-frame terms

3- 18x zoom ~ about 500mm in full-frame terms

4- 18x zoom + 2x in-camera digital zoom making 35x eq ~ about 1000mm in full frame terms

5- a 300px x 100% crop from the above 35x zoom image

All images were tripod-mounted for stability

Regards, Phil

The usual "Zoom" test... (FZ-150)
First cold (-1) night of the year, but crisp and clear...
Aperture priority at f/5.6,iso 100,centre area AF,spot metering- camera chose 1/200th sec speed. Hand-held.

Yes Simon

Another good example of a very fine lens / camera combo
