Default Panasonic Owner's Manual

Does anyone know where I can get an extra copy of the FZ1 owner's manual? I'm talking about the actual manual that comes with the camera, and not the PDF.

I could order it from Panasonic, but it is $16.20 and I am sure that doesn't include shipping. Plus the manual is backordered.

You can take the PDF to a copy center and have it printed. They can put it in book form.

Thank you, I was considering that, but copy centers will not handle copyrighted materials w/o permission of the copyright owner. I can try explaining that this is a file that is available to download directly from Panasonic.

I don't think you would have a problem with them making one copy. If you were to ask for a thousand copies, then you might have a problem. Just explain that it's a manual for your camera, I'm sure you won't have a problem.

I got a quote from Kinkos of $10, not including folding, stapling, and binding. Binding is $4.95, I might as well order the book from Panasonic for $16!

I agree, that's too much to pay for one copy. I read your post over at DP. You may want to check your printer options. Some of the more sophisticated printer software allows for printing two-up or booklet form, especially the laser printers if you have one.

Ok, I finally got in touch with someone at Kinko's that knows what they are talking about. The manual can be copied, 2-up, double sided for about $4.75 (or something like that), then stapling is $0.25, and booklet setup is $2.50. I questioned them about the "booklet setup fee" and they said they have to charge that because it takes them 20 minutes to set the machine to do booklets. I think that's a pretty lame excuse considering that I can buy ClickBooks for $50 and do it myself on my laser printer, except for the fact that I'm not going to be doing enough booklet printing to make up for the $50. So, I paid the $2.50 and got a manual for $7.50 and still paid less than Panasonic's $16.xx.

Yes, $16.xx plus shipping. How does the finished product looK? I wouldn't mind a spare copy myself.

Looks fine, actually looks much like the original.

BTW - Thanks Panasonic for putting each language in its own manual. Now if I could just shrink that one to fit it in the camera case...
