As a matter of interest I put the dog pic onto P/S/Es and sharpened it a bit and it looked a lot better.I don't know if you had already sharpened it in P/S or in camera.
I made no adjustments to the picture. Have not used PSE but I do use ACDSEE which does some deblurring and other things. It is a good program for viewing pictures. I am posting a picture of a rail I took the other day, one of those taken into the sun and no time to set up properly, it is a picture not a photograph, but probably wouldn't have gotten it all with the bigger camera. I also sharpened the resized picture to see what it does.

dmonk, try Irfanview. Easy and lots of features, including lossless JPG saving.

I have used that for years. It's shareware, but I send Irfan some money each time he sends a free upgrade.

I tried irfanview a while ago and the free download came with all sorts of baggage, so I uninstalled it.I too had been told it was better for web posting. Perhaps it's better now?? my P/S/elements is PSE4 so quite old now but does all I need. The Rail looks good to me.
