Thanks jj- and no,I didn't go for a ride on the chuffer- as I was on my bike..! Though I think I'll have to get that box ticked soon...

My wife is Welsh and my son loves trains. We've been to a few train rides in Wales but not to this one. I'll keep this in mind for our next trip to the UK. Nice shot. I also liked the other pictures ou posted on the Transportation forum.

A beautiful photo of a beautifully restored locomotive.
Thank you Simon, that photo (and the others) was very much appreciated, narrow gauge railways and live steam model loco's being my main hobby.
I think I must have been born with steam in my blood, as at the beginning of the 20th century my father was a draughtsman for the firm that built that locomotive, later moving on to other locomotive manufactures.

John, for a moment I thought it was my son's post...he lives and breathes trains. We have an O scale 6x12 train layout in our garage. He has one of those post war transformers and we gave him a Lionel Legacy system for Xmas. The layout is still under construction...it seems like the work never ends!
