Default The Grand Canyon

One of the most beautiful natural wonders, created by the erosion caused by the running river over a period of millions of years. Unfortunately, I had the opportunity to make only a day-trip from Phoenix, limiting my time at the Canyon to just a few hours. If I happen to visit the US again, I have made up my mind to stay at least a couple of days there, get down to the base of the river and make more meaningful photos. For now, these are the best I could present. Hope you like these.

The scenic route:

This and the above were shot through the glass of the car window.

A beautiful bird receiving us at the Canyon entrance:

Do you get an idea of the size involved?

Nature's art, done very patiently:

A (slightly) closer look at the brush strokes:

The river is running deep:

A watch tower, one of the view points that offer a real good view of the Canyon:

We had to end at this point, darkness starting to envelope the sky.

The other most enjoyable part of the trip, having my grand-daughter to pose like this!

C&C most welcome.
Raghu

That last photo, you're looking awfully young to be a grand-dad! Just kidding! You have a precious granddaughter.

Thank you Alex and Robert, for looking and for the comments.
Oh no Robert, I forgot to mention that it is my son-in-law who is holding the child! I AM as old as you think I am!
Do visit and enjoy the Grand Canyon. If possible, make time for the treks that go down to the river.
This is me and my better half Vasanthi:

Enjoyed viewing Raghu, just a great series.

The Grand Canyon for those that have never been is difficult place to get right.

Thanks Jim. You're right, how I wish I had an extra day or two there! (I'm not sure whether you saw my private message sent a few days back)

Well, Raghu, you and your "better half" look too young to be Grandparents.
