Default Fiery Illusion (FZ150)

Another odd illusion..

"The Mysterious Pink Planet"
I hope I am not breaking any rules posting this photo clip, as it was taken with my old Konica Minolta A2 (now deceased). As it was captured from the same location, 2 years ago, I thought it would make an interesting contrast. The photo is only clipped and resized (and very noisy) with no colour manipulation. There was a slight mist that evening which created this illusion as the sun approached the horizon.

It's probably because you call it a planet it spews fire in the first photo! The sun does take different hues nearer the horizon, depending on atmospheric conditions, but I haven't seen the sun this pink. Nice photos both, John.

Thank you Raghu.
I had never seen it pink like that before or since, but you right about the atmospheric conditions, there was a haze that evening which must have had that effect. I must admit when I saw it, the colour and illusion of a big pink sphere hovering behind the trees did send me running home to grab my camera.
