Default FZ2 firmware version

Hi everybody,
I received my new FZ2 yesterday, this is my first post.
I checked the firmware version, it is 1.00.
From another forum, everybody reports they have version 1.05.
Can any FZ2 owners tell me:
1. Does it matter?
2. Can I upgrade?
Thanks in advance,
Pedro

Hi, i got my FZ-2 two weeks ago (purchased in Germany).

The firmware version info reads: 1.00:0010, FZ2:0041, OIS 1.00:100B, 06.23 11:36...

Obviously this is not the newest version, but the camera operates fine and some limitations can be overcome quite easily.

Just to confirm, how about checking the exif data on a shot and seeing if that indicates that the firmware is 1.00.

What limitations did you encounter and what are your workarounds?

See this thread http://www.stevesforums.com/phpBB2/v...asc&highlight=

But as i've learned those "limitations" are not due to the version of the firmware.
Why i call them limitations: because physically (looking at the components the FZ-2 is built of) it absolutely does not make any sense to limit the aperture to F8 at 8 sec. exposure time...
The same goes for the limit of 1/8 sec. shutter speed in "P"-Mode or the 1 sec. limit at "A"-Mode. So at slower speeds in order to change the aperture u have to use "S" mode an then play with the "EV" bias... i don't get the logic behind this.
