Default Little Praying Mantis

This is a juvenile, you can tell by his short wings. About 1-1/2" (~3.5cm) long. FZ150 + Raynox 250. Used fill flash to cut out harsh shadows because it was very sunny.

Very nice, clean shots of the young mantis. The wings, when developed, have a nice, checked lines pattern visible in close up shots like this. Curious to know what is the surface in the middle photo.

Thank you both!

Raghu, that is a drain cover on my patio floor. It looks like he is walking up stairs, doesn't it?
