Hi Carol, nice shots. Is that a Downy or Hairy are something else?

JJ; it's either a Downy or a Hairy. I'm pretty sure it's a Downy, but I can't tell by my bird books, as they are so similiar.

Here's a couple of a Mountain Chickadee. He had an injury to his head, but appeared to be fine.

My guess is the Downy. Nice shots of the Chickadee Carol.

Thanks JJ! I was glad to catch this little fellow with the camera.

Going by two of my "bird" books, I agree that it must be a Downy. Beautiful bird!

Cute visitors Carol! Two of my favorites birds (I want to say Hairy because the bill seems too long for a Downy, but I could be totally wrong!)

Thanks Saly. On another forum someone also mentioned that they thought it was a Hairy, because of the length of the beak!

I absolutely love the little chickadees. In the mornings, when I'm bringing the birdfeeders out to hang, they jump on the feeders while I'm carrying them to get their first seed!

Good to have birds around, they reassure nature is thriving around you. Don't they, Carol? Nice shots of both birds, look forward to seeing more.
