Default Taking Moon shots

I'll be anxious to try the FZ70 on the moon. What settings would give the best results (on a tripod, of course)?

Carol, that will depend on the moon's brightness which keeps changing by the day. What I would do is to put spot focus on, and see what the camera does in P mode. I would make a note of the settings and try variations in M mode. Tripod certainly will help, but I have observed full moon requires a fast shutter speed, something like 1/125 or even 1/250, which can be done without tripod also.

Since you would naturally try to test your 60X zoom, shooting the plain moon is OK. However, it is more interesting to see shots of moon with some additional background - clouds, trees, etc. which you can try with your imagination.
