Default Fz200

Who is taking photos with the FZ200 ? because so many pics are lacking exif data I cant find out.
It is nice to be able to see what camera ,what settings, to me it makes the photos more interesting knowing how the shots were achieved.
Or am I just being nosey?

G'day mate

Like you, I also like to bounce around the basic exposure & lens details
The -but- is that I use Flickr & it strips the exif link from the image link ... so for me, I add a text line explaining this. I do suspect tho that many others don't realise this when they link Flickr images here & elsewhere

All the images I upload to flickr retain their exif data- though some uploaders choose to not disclose this- heaven knows why...!
Perhaps it wasn't taken with the said camera...!?

I use Flicker as my posting site and from the little I know if you post using the URL link using.

[img]url[/img] the exif data is not included.

But if you upload to Steve's from Flicker and attach the image the exif data is maintained.

Simon I would be interested in hearing more on your statement "Perhaps it wasn't taken with the said camera...!?"

I don't hide EXIF data on flickr. It's there for all to see, if you see the image on Flickr. I don't know how to 'attach' the image from Flickr. If that will help viewers, I will do it for my future posts- Jim, can you help?

G'day fellas

Let's try a Flickr link again

I can see in Flickr the camera settings stated as :-
Panasonic DMC-G2 -Settings: 1/640 /5.6 ISO 100 162 mm

so I "grab the HTML / BB Code" ...
NB - one line for the image, another line for the description [that I usually erase before posting]

Rolleston Qld, Cutting Competition, April 2013 (101) by ozzie_traveller, on Flickr

Any Exif data after a right-click?

Second try:-
From the 'Advanced' toolbar we have an icon called "Insert Image"
It responds with "Please enter the URL of your image"

So I paste "http://www.flickr.com/photos/ozzie_traveller/8694746948/in/set-72157633383572036"

and nothing is displayed ...

Over to Jim
Phil

Good day to you too, Phil.

As I understand it, I don't think you can see EXIF by right clicking on the image posted here. Please correct me if I am wrong. You need to download the image and then see the EXIF through the impage processing software you have.

I downloaded your Flickr image, and was able to see the EXIF. I downloaded one of my own images posted here, and I am not able to the EXIF! Obviously, there is a difference in how I post my images. If you and Deadshot will excuse me, I am going to try all the three ways of sharing a picture here.

I am providing a link to the image (paper clip symbol) here:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/raghu_ambattur/11384381924. Therefore, only the link appears. You will get to see the image on clicking the link.

I am inserting the url here.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/raghu_ambattur/11384381924 I expected to see the image here, but again only the link appears. I actually removed a lot of other information like <frame>, size, etc. You are able to see the image on click.

I tried to put all the info using the 'insert picture' box, and this is what I get!

I am trying to 'pin' or attach the image here. Ha! It appears!

Now, I try to download all these and see if I get the EXIF. In the first two instances, where I am directed to go to Flickr, and then download the image from there, I am able to see the EXIF. In the third instance, where the picture appears here, if I save the picture to my computer I am not able to see the EXIF. Whereas, I am able to see the EXIF of the picture you posted here. I don't know where I am going wrong.

Any help Jim?

Deadshot,

You may find many photos taken out of FZ200 on flickr here: http://www.flickr.com/search/?q=fz200. EXIF also available. Many of them look like SLR pics!

I agree, simply "right-clicking" an image does not allow you to see the EXIF information. I really don't want to have to download a photo just for this information.

G'day all

By right-clicking I am using the Firefox add-on to display image exif data
