Default More earthshine

This morning I got up early to catch the earthshine, and I was not disappointed - in fact I was pleased with a little patch of cloud passing along, which added some depth to the otherwise empty frame in the zoomed shot. See both the wide angle and zoom. This was a different star today - if you look close, you can see there are actually two stars, one bright and the other almost invisible.

P.S: On browsing the net after posting the photo, to clear my doubt about the double star, I got to know the following interesting information: "Beta Scorpii is another multiple star system in Scorpius. In small telescopes, it appears as a binary star with two components separated by 13.5 seconds of arc. The brighter of the two components is itself a binary star."

C&C welcome.

There is a website "spaceweather.com" giving interesting information and update on celestial objects. I saw a stunning picture of earthshine, but that, of course, was a composite made with images out of powerful telescopes, 5 of the moon's unlit surface and 3 of the lit cresent and neatly stacked and processed to merge into one beautiful image. While I cannot match that quality with my poor FZ28 (though it is a VERY good camera), I have picked out my past images, even taken with my old FZ3, and have attempted to render a somewhat simpler composite. I like the image given below. The original from spaceweather is also given beneath. C&C most welcome.
