Beautiful colors Darren, you should try to use a tripod when photographers with large focal length to reduce the effect of micro-rough, even tries to stay within the frame of the whole body of the bird. I hope you do not mind these little tips.
If you have occasion back in the oasis to make a few more shots!

Thanks guys . I went down to take one pic of a scene now to compare to the same scene from the 80s . I saw the Heron and took a few shots , my tripod was in the car boot though i didn't realise at the time .
