Default Tailorbird

A good example for camouflage. This little bird keeps hopping restlessly, and also cleverly hides itself amid leaves, so I had to wait a lot for this opportunity. Otherwise, fairly easy to shoot.

Thanks, Alex and Jim. I haven't seen that bird after the day I photographed it!

Raghu, the effect of the light and the sharpness of the leaves in this photo are really amazing. If I stare at it for a short while, it almost looks like 3D.

How did it get the name Tailor Bird ?

Thanks, John. I'm still trying to get a better photo of the bird which teases me by its calls but never poses for me!

I got this from Wikipedia: "Tailorbirds get their name from the way their nest is constructed. The edges of a large leaf are pierced and sewn together with plant fibre or spider's web to make a cradle in which the actual grass nest is built."
