Default Tz30 fault - opinions please

As I said in an earlier post my Panny TZ30, which is only 16 months old with very little use gave up due to the lens not extending.

I took it back to the shop and they sent it away saying if it is a Panasonic fault they would pay to repair it.

I now hear that the fault is the Master flange assembly, and the full lens alignment needed. This, they say is classed as a normal repair.

For those who really know the panny would you say this was a manufacturers fault?

I would so appreciate your opinion.
Thanks

"Normal" or "Common"...!! Provided they don't try and accuse you of dropping the camera on its lens assembly it is most certainly a manufacturing defect.

That's what I thought. I have written to headquarters for their opinion on the matter- will let you know what happens.
