In the past, I have had this problem when my camera accidentally fell down (when it was inside its bag, so no external damage). The lens would not move. I tried putting gravity to work - like, extending the zoom while keeping the camera facing down, and returning to wide angle while keeping the camera facing up the sky. After a few attempts, the barrel started to move a little sluggishly at first, but came to normal in about 10-15 attempts. No harm in trying this, if it can help.

John, I surely hope you don't get cramped fingers too badly! I'm still waiting to hear from Panasonic with the repair ticket, and where to send it.

Hi JJ; yep, tried that also. I wouldn't be quite as upset if I banged the camera around, but it's really been babied.

Hi Raghu, yes, also tried that many times with no luck. Can't understand what happened with it. Something inside must have slipped or jammed.
