Default Viking Invasion pt1 (FZ70/72)

We have just visited this years sand sculptures at Søndervig in Jutland, DK. This years theme was the Vikings and Nordic mythology.
As usual there were free standing sculptures and the massive wall of sand along two sides of the exhibition area. Amazing to think that these sculpures are created at the start of June, and are exhibited until October. Occasionally repairs are needed after really bad storms.
Here are just a few examples.

A Viking meeting death.

Part 2.
I wouldn't want to meet this guy on a dark night.

Brynhildr........a formidable looking woman ! (I wouldn't want to meet her on a dark night either, or any where else !)

Thor wielding his hammer.

The onlooker gives an idea of the height of the wall of sand.

The citadel of Asgard being destoyed by frost giants and the fire demon-Surtur. (Pretty scary stuff )

Amazing indeed, not only the intricate sculpture but the expression they bring into the faces too! Very well captured, John! Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for the nice comments, Raghu, Jim and Simon.

Simon, I think I'd rather meet death on a dark night, chances are that I would possibly be asleep... I imagine it would be a more pleaseant meeting !
