Nice shot, you got it in focus. I have not seen the rusty-red ring around their eyes on the spiders that roam around here. But overall, the image seems a little over exposed, cutting finer details from the top of its head, and on the legs too. The best way I have learnt to shoot them is to corner them from all sides continuously for five to ten minutes, they get tired and start waiting for a while before jumping on you again. Have a great time with your new friend!

However, spiders are not cute! I hope you killed it shortly after this photo with copious amounts of fire!
