Default Q for Panasonic Bob: Bug or feature?

Hello,
I don't know, am I doing something wrong or this is how it should be?

1. Brightnes of LCD and EVF

Lcd brightnes is different in P and M mode. The settings are the same. M mode is much much darker.

2. Auto WB with flash

Flash does not fire when setting auto WB. Not the built in, not external (canon 550 EX) not the studio flash? The WB for flash isn't good, to much blue.

3. P mode with flash

No matter which ISO setting you choose you always get 1/60. ISO 50 underexposed, ISO 200 and higher overexposed.

4. Unable to shoot in studio using M mode.

When you change to F 5.6 and T to 1/80 you don't see a thing. OK you do BLACK LCD. There are two pilot lights of studio flashes, which are connected to camera over the cube.

There are more issues but thats all for now.

Thans for any answers.

Default I'm running out of time

OK, i got 5 days left to return my camera, thats why I need the answer.

I have already discovered that numbers 1,3,4 are features, but number 2 puzzles me, because no one ever complained.

Anyone??????

Just tried Flash with WB set at Auto - the flash does fire.

This bit I don't comprehend. What exactly are you trying to say?
When you said the Flash didn't fire with WB on Auto, you were referring to the built-in flash, weren't you? If not, then I'm sorry I can't help as I don't have an external flash unit to test the hotshoe.

Default WB

I was not refering to taking pictures with WB set to AUTO.

The problem is when setting the WB.

Open the flash, in menu select AUTO WB. When you are asked to aim at white surface, do it.

Did you flash fire or not. Mine doesen't.

Ok, here's what I've just done:
Menu>WB>Auto>Menu - flash fires
Menu>WB>flashWB - flash fires
Menu>WB Auto - flash fires
Menu>flashWB>Menu - flash fires

When you choose the flashWB, if you exit from the menu and press up on the 4-way, you can access the flash power level (which you know, of course), followed by the WB colour temperature level - left for warmer, right for colder.
Any which way I access the WB feature in the menu, I can fire my built-in flash with no problems whatsoever - so I can only conclude your FZ10 must be playing up.

Reset your settings back to their default values, and then try the WB thing. I can't see what else you may have incorrectly set, but it's worth a try before concluding yours is indeed faulty.

Hope that helps.

Chico, the flash is *not* supposed to fire when you depress the shutter while manually setting the WB. The way in which you explained it below means your camera is functioning properly.

Partly my fault for not reading fully and partly poor explanation - the selection is White Set, by going to the extreme right whilst in WB setting in Menu, nothing to do with Auto anything!

Now that I know what you were getting at, then I can confirm, the flash doesn't fire until the Menu is exited from. So, your camera is working as it should in this regard.
