"K" stands for black, as in CMYK and "S" is for silver. The only difference is the color.

OK i have the blackone
and notthing diferrent and because this is the privacy from pana that will have 2 color... blak-silver for LUMAX series (such as LC33 FZ1 FZ10 LC1) .
i thouth reason is...
Some one want in black 'cause many acceseries come in black (tripot - fillter - external flash),and it will hard to dirty when use it for a long.....time,or no screch.
But some one need in silver to present them that they are "in tread" or more hitech.
(AHHHH i'am not good in english ... sorry)

They'll both look a little too much like handguns, especially if you're kneeling. I caught hell in DC a few weeks ago for that. Apparently kneeling on the median as diplomats drove by is verboten post 9/11. Who knew?

Rumour has it that the reason for the black color is that the "pros" prefer black gear to reduce the glare or sheen bouncing off of silver equipment.

Ibought the black model because my first FZ1 (silver) was showing slight signs of wear on the silver finish. You wouldn't notice such wear on the black model. So when I noticed the black FZ1 for sale for $235 shipped, I sold my silver model on Ebay and grabbed a black one. For the record, I think the silver one looks better, but it won't look better if the coating rubs off!
