Gee my camera came with a lens blockie thingy, it's round
and snaps into the front threads and was kinda like what
Brady used as a shutter during the Civil War....

I think the manual calls it a "LENS CAP"
Bulb exposure works also.. just kidding, sorry couldn't resist...

Have a GREAT 4th all.
Greg

LOL! Happy Fourth to you, too.

since we had a local display 'in our backyard' for the most part, I've already got some shots of fireworks.

shutter time was maxed out at 15 sec.

not the best outta the close to 500 pics I took that night, but I still liked the look of the trees and the mailbox in the near foreground.

Maybe I'm silly, but on my FZ10 my shutter speed maxes out at 8 seconds?

I'm not sure if you can see the exif data on these pics, the ones of the fireworks were all at f2.8, 28mm effective FL, and shutter ranged from .33 sec to 1 sec. Focus was manually set toinfinity.

All these pics were hand held, if you are going to try for even longer exposures a tripod becomes important.

It was after 10pm and dark, but even with these slightly longish exposures you can see trees and stuff.
