Dear Steve,
I read your review for Panasonic DMC-LC5,but your samples are taken with camera with old firmware.
Do you know that Panasonic provide a new firmware for this camera wich is reducing dramaticaly the sensityvity (ISO) of the camera and also the noise.
With old firmware 100ISO was just like 300-400ISO of other cameras .Now 100ISo is real 100ISO and noise and blotchy are very very low !
This is very important for all owners of this model.
See this pictures and crop with new firmware - there is not "blotchy" and noise:

Excuse me for my bad English.

Well, I hope you can understand that we can't go back and re-review cameras everytime that new firmware comes out. We only get these cameras for 1-2 months and then we send them back. I'm happy to hear that Panasonic has improved the output quality of the LC5.

Where can one find this firmware upgrade? I looked all over the Panasonic site and could not find it.

Hi there,

can anybody tell me if it is possible to download this new lc5 firmware??? A already asked the panasonic service center but they only offer the opportunity to send my camera to the service center and get it back some weeks later. Due to the fact that I go on holiday next week I do not have the time to wait for the service center....

Regards, Sven.
