Hi

I only posted this because of the rumors about the FZ15 and FZ20.

The FZ3 is a real product,I have no idea of when we will see official postings, today?,however the information is correct

I see the problem. The FZ 3 has not officially been announced.Looks like my posting was the first on the net .Whoops...

A quick search on Google revealed a few shops prepared to take your dollars whith little or no details on the product.(after my posting)

Again the FZ3 looks like the 2 but just a little bit smaller, the Venus 2 engine should give the camera a faster startup time, but this is my guess. The lag time is a Panasonic figure, from focus lock or "in focus" (from.. is my interpretation)

so do you know anything new about the FZ15 and FZ20 as well?

From what I see in your posts so far, the FZ3 has

- Venus Engine 2
- TIFF support
- AF assist lamp
- 30fps movie
- fast start up
- 1, 3, and 9 point autofocus

Can we assume the FZ15/20 will have similar capabilities?

Franco - Two questions:

1. Manual focus - Some of the fz3 preliminaryinfo has indicated manual focus. Can you confirm this? Will it be in the form of a manual focus ring similar to the fz10?

2.Infrared photos - The fz1/2has infrared capabilty using the hoya r72 filter. The fz10 does not due to its strong internal ir blocker. Will ir photos be possible with the fz3?

Thanks, Fred

Hi

I do not know anything about the FZ15 or 20.

There is no manual focus ring on the DMC FZ3,the same for all of the other cameras of this type in this price range,ie Minolta Z2/Olympus C760...

This is all I know about the FZ3,should be out in August/September.

Franco
