I was wondering about the noise people get with their FZ10. I hear that the ISO level affects the noise, but I'm not experiencing that. In fact, I'm not really sure what they mean, since mine doesn't appear to be making much noise - well, when it starts up, there's the lens moving.

Oh, wait .... never mind.

Oh, yeah, mine used to do that, before I dropped it. Now it doesn't make any noise. At all.

Does anyone leave the fake shutter sounds on? Every time I hear one of them I want to scream!

Ok guys, lets not make so much noise aboutnoise, huh? :-)

Actually, if you want to hear the absolute best shutter sound from a digicam, listen to a Minolta G500. They copied the shutter sound from a Konica Hexar RF (Konica's flagship 35mm rangefinder camera). The shutter sound makes it seem like you are using a "real camera". It's very realistic.

A very realistic mock apple pie still contains no apples!

(I'm not sure what that means but it beats calling you names for being on the side of insidious fake shutter sounds, even if they are very realistic insidious fake shutter sounds! :-))

Well, my wife had me turn off all the sounds, so we have no beeps and no shutter sound. I guess it's my "stealth camera."

Your wife is on the right track!

My neighbours are pure "point and shoot" people. I borrowed their cam once and turned off the fake shutter sounds more or less as a reflex action.

Some time after I gave it back they told me how it had "stopped making those annoying sounds when taking photographs". They just didn't know how to turn them off!

I think that a user definable shutter sound should be made available as part of a firmware release... :-)

I mean Panasonic have downloadable ringtones in their phones, so why not on their cameras?

Then it would only accept mp3 format, and everyone would want lossless .wav format! Its the way with people & digital cameras.
