OK here's the delema. I just picked up a new in the box FZ10 for $300.00 from a camera shop that went out of business. Do I keep it or sell it on ebay and take the extra money to buy the FZ20 ? I have been reading a lot of posts with very mixed feelings about the FZ20 and the quality of it's pictures. I am very familiar with the 35mm format but I am brand new to the digital seen. This is my first digital purchase. Is the FZ20 a formidable upgrade or would you stay with the FZ10 ? I realistically could purchase the FZ20 for about $400.00 (after selling the FZ10) of my own money.

All opinions welcome !!

Thanks

:!:If your description is true there'd be many to buy the DC at 300USD, ican refer you to a few in U.S. If i were u i would stick with it, there is absolutely nothing substantial about FZ20...the same ccd has been stuffed with 5mp instead of 4 and venus engine 2 only matters if u use burst mode being a pro sports shooter i think.......stay with FZ 10.

Keep it...

Wait til you see how the FZ20 "pans out"...every pun intended.

Then make your decision.

It seems every single one of your posts implies "Buy the FZ20 now" when many other people on the forums advocate (and understandably so) that we wait to see how the new series of cameras pans out. Care to explain?

I felt the same way about the FZ20 when it was first announced. Almost mad that Panasonic had the nerve to discontinue my FZ10after I only had it afewmonths. Then I thought about how fast technology is changing, like the early years of computers.

I would bet Panisonic will come out with asix or eight megapixel camera in 6 months to a year. They will have to in order to stay in the race, especially with Lieca as a partner.
