I have the DMW-FL28 external flash for my FZ-10. It works well.

Great discussion. I had missed the point it could beslave triggered. Interesting possibilities.

I am planning on purchasing the fz-20 to continue on in this camera series. I like what I have read of the changes.

Bob, what are thewell exposed average scene distances that can be expected at least zoom lens setting with the fz-20 built in flash compared to the fz-10 built in? Another way of stating this is what distance can I expect to switch from internal to my Panasonic external flash. Is it the same for the fz 20 as for the fz-10?

When I use either the internal or external flash,I like to discretely test the distance and exposure on an averagegreytarget like a neutral brick wall so I know whatdistance and zoom I can shoot and get agood shot. And I manual assist prefocus on that distance. Then shooting similar shots of peopleseems easy.
