Seems to be a bit of noise in FZ20 pics but then...they may have been resized for the web.

I'm not really impressed with the FZ20 samples. I liked the FZ3's better.

Actually, I thought the FZ20 images were amazingly sharp and crisp. Yes, there is more noise than with the FZ10, but that's to be expected at 5 megapixels. The important thing to me is not the default images, but what can be done with them to optimize quality.

Both the eagle which was shot at full zoom and the tropical bird had much more detail than I've ever gotten with my FZ10. Each shows that Panasonic still tends to slightly miss the focus (analysis by Focus Magic deconvolution software) by a pixel or two, but this is quite easily corrected and the slightly greater noise doesn't show at all in my 8x10 prints of the samples. A little post processing and these 5 megapixel images are as good as any from my Sony F707 or F717 which rather set the standard for five megapixel resolution. Couple that with the incredible zoom and image stabilization and I think Panasonic/Lumix has a real contender here.

Obviously, it will be nice to see objective testing done but so far I'm certainly impressed when comparing these images to all my other fixed lens digicams (a couple dozen)...
