I feel in the minority, being an extremely happy FZ-10 owner. I would be even happier if someone could tell me where I can get a PD-62 or yoshida adaptor (preferably in the UK) so I can buy a TCON-14.
I have seen the Phayee adaptor on E-bay but I dont like the exposed thread that you have when you remove the lens hood element of the adaptor.
TIA

Hi,

Well, I just received my Phayee adapter, and yes, if you unscrew the 'hood' portion, the thread will be exposed. BUT, the adapter also comes with a small ring, to cover these threads if they are not used. You can see another persons (post author called :then, post number #36)review of this here:

Hope this helps.

You are not going to be able to purchase the Peramaal PD62 or Yoshida adapter here in the UK unless you purchase a used one, they are only available directly from the respective manufacturers.

If you have a PayPal account you can purchase either the Peramaal or Yoshida adapter without any problems, it is just a case of waiting approximately 7-10 days for the adapter to arrive.

For further details on the Peramaal or Yoshida check these websites:-

Peramaal:- http://www.b-300.com/

Yoshida:- http://www3.coara.or.jp/~shingu_t/engulish/e_top.htm

The Phayee is a reasonably priced adapter and I have never had any problems with the 'exposed' thread that you mentioned.

There is also a Taiwanese adapter that looks excellent quality (Shene has reviewed it and is also prepared to order a special batch for forum members that are interested in purchasing one). For further details check Shene's review and the accompanying thread on the Taiwanese adapter.

There aren't any exposed threads if you use the little ring that covers them up.

I leave my phayee adaptor on all the time - it serves as a short hood.

The "little ring" that you mentioned must be a fairly new innovation for the Phayee adapter, none was supplied with the adapter that I purchased some months ago.

I like the Taiwanese adapter that Shene has mentioned which has a neat fitting to allow the attachment of a bayonet type 'petal lens hood'.

Hopefully Shene is going to order a "one-off" batch of the Taiwanese adapters for those people wishing to obtain one, I have my order in!
