I am curious, what zoom capability are you guys/gals getting on the Nikon 6T?

With my B+W I am able to do around 2x - 3x zoom in order to stay in focus.

Have you tried to stack the filter? Any possible way to get beyond 2x optical zoom and still say in focus?

Not sure I understand your question.

Nearly ALL my 6T shots are taken at 12x. I find it much better because you can get high magnification and you don't have to get so close to the subject either

See this gallery http://www.wilkesworld.co.uk/closeups.htm

I have no problem focusing at 12x, BUT depth of field is very short at this focal length, so keeping something in focus, or getting the whole object in focus IS very hard I agree.

Here's an example from my gallery

Hmm 12x? How far away do you have to stand to take that picture?

I am asking because I am trying to take some closeup picture of my fish in my fish tank.

This was taking using 2x with B+W NL3 (I think or is it NL5), in either case, I was approx 1' away from the object or less I think.

For maximum magnification, one should use 12X. All close-up lenses that I have can focus properly at 12X. My poston DPreview may be useful: http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/re...ssage=10324464
