Does anybody know the max SD that an FZ20 can handle?

Thanks in advance!

I was at Sunday at the Photokina in Cologne. I spoke with an official of Sandisk about the new Ultra II SD 2 GB. He told me that FZ20 can handle it and the performance would beexcellent.

But in a Photokina report by DPreivew for San Disk, it was stated the following:

"In an interesting aside Sandisk revealed that its engineers have discovered that current digital cameras cannot access more than 1GB of memory on an SD card, for reasons yet to be fully explained. It is expected, or rather hoped, that camera manufacturers will be able to solve this serious problem via firmware updates. "

Whether the FZ20 is one of the "current digital cameras" I am not too sure.....

Instruction manual give stats for up to and including a 1 GB card. This is 61 pics in Tiff 395 in highest jpg. As we all know the books sometimes get written before larger cards are available, so don't know if a 2GB would work or not.

Suzan

Should say highest quality jpg. Sorry.

I am using the ScanDisk Ulta II 512 MB card, and have 2 of them. They work great and probably all I will ever need.

1 GB is currently the largest card I'm aware of. Larger cards will be available and we've been told that the larger cards will work just fine. I see no reason to worry.

Bob, some time ago you promised to check whether the FZ3, FZ15 and FZ20 utilize the parallel interface of the SD cards.

Do they?
