Above is why I went with the FZ20 vs FZ3.

Me to camera: Focus on the bird not the branch in front of the bird.

Camera to me: Focus on branch complete...

Switching to manual focus...now where did the silly bird go?

The bird isn't sharp, but the wooden underground on which the bird is sitting. Looks like the camera has a real focus problem. Which kind of focus did you use Bob?

All full zoom (10x) camaras have this kind of off focus situation due to you shaky hand. It is not focus problem at all.

I am sorry, Bob, but that image isn't sharp, and honestly, neither is that image of you taking a picture of yourself. I am not trying to be mean, just honest. The picture of that boy up above is sharp!
This may have been said before, but I'm going to chime in. The picture was at 12X zoom - 432mm equivalent for a 35mm camera. My understanding is that rule of thumb for zoom would mean that the optimal shutter speed would be around 1/400 sec. The picture was hand held at 1/50. Give me a break. It's a two inch tall bird and it's breathing. The photographer explained the conditions of the shot. The post in pretty sharp, but it's not moving. A little bird like that has an incredible metabolism and is ALWAYS moving.
