Nice shots, nice and close. Need to diffuse the flash though. A peice of printing paper or white tissue of the flash head/s will do the trick.

All the best.

Danny.

Very nice shots. I agree with Danny on the light diffussion assuming it doesn't mess up what are already very well done.
Questions:
FZ10? Were they cropped? What is the Sigma Achromatic close up? What external flash? Post processing?
Danny - Do you just tapea piece oftissueover the flash?

Thanks Danny and fmoore for the suggestions. I was actually using a bounce card and it was not a direct flash shot......but I think it was still too strong. Must think of some other way to diffuse it.

Camera is FZ10, pics were cropped for better composition. The Sigma Achromatic close up is a add on filter to the camera. It was meant for the Sigma 70-300 APO zoom lens (from SLR days) to allow magnification to 1:1, and I am using it on the Fz10. Flash is the FL-28, using a homemade bounce flash card. Post processing using PS, and for some, neat image.

Howdyfmoor :-), I just use a rubber band, very easy and simple.

Bounced flash used here is really ideal, just seems slighty harsh. In which case, still try a tissue over it as well as bouncing. A lot of nature shooters use large diffuser disc, but IMHO they are just too large for macro work.

Excellent images at this ratio anyway, so just keep at it, I love it :-), great to see.

All the best folks as always.

Danny.
