hello, i'm planning to buy FZ15, but there is one question, i was reading a review at http://www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/FZ15/FZ15A7.HTM and here is what confused me a little, did anybody had this problem, slow auto-focus?

The FZ15 is a real mixed bag in the speed department. Like many long-zoom digicams, its shutter delay is downright leisurely, with a range from 1.33 - 1.47 second for full-autofocus operation. Manual focus is a little better, at 0.30 second, and prefocused, it's positively blazing, at 0.039 second. Cycle times on the other hand are really fast. In manual-focus single-shot mode with a sufficiently fast card (we tested with a Lexar 32x SD card), it can capture large/fine JPEG files to the memory card nonstop, at just over a half-second per shot(!) With slower cards, it'll make you wait a little every 3-4 shots, but it's still very fast. So... If you can live with using manual focus or prefocusing, the FZ15 would be great for fast-paced action, but if you have to wait for the autofocus system to work, you'll be hoping for still-lifes.

I have a FZ15 and don't think it's slow to focus. I have not taken a stopwatch to it but I would think it is under a second. I did notice that under low light, it takes a little longer than in the day light. Would I call it slow? No, not at all. If you look at Steve review of the FZ15, I think he has some shutter delay times in that review.
Here is the link to the page with that information on it

I don't think a camera can be to slow to take a pic like this:G

and what can you say about buying an extra high-capacity battery for FZ15 and also what kind of high-speed SD memory should i look at? maybe you know any websites, where i can find a "memory review"?

I've been thinking about getting one of those batteries myself someday. The Battybarn has one that is said to last about 30 min longer than the stock ones. You can find it here: http://www.batterybarn.com/cgas002.htm Now if you are talking about one of those batteries that mount on the bottom of the camera, I don't know much about them other than the review I read. The guy said it worked well and lasted all day. I think Rezajune on this board has one.

I wish I could remember the site that was doing the memory card test:?: If I think of it I'll post a link. Have you done a search on this board for SD memory cards? Seems to me I have seen this topic more than a few time.

thats an incredible picture, the best way to answer my question, thank you!

one more time about the battery, as i see, the one which you were talking about, is 800mAh, are there any other ones, with more capacity?

The Digipower DPS 9000 is the big boy on the block I hear. People say this thing will last all day. Take a look at it here
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...sPageName=WDVW

and a review of it here
http://www.imaging-resource.com/ACCS...00/DPS9000.HTM

Hope this helped.

metroid, I just read a post from genece who said he has the battery from the Battery Barn. He said it does not last much longer than the OEM panasonic. If you want to read the thread it's under the topic Longest battery time for FZ20
