I would llike to submit my totally objective comparison to this discussion as well.

The following picture was taken with an FZ1 at fully automatic.


The second picture was taken with an FZ 20 at the same setting under the same lighting conditions. The model was the same for both pictures.

I have not laughed so hard in a while. Thanks smac. I am still laughing. This forum is a great place. I have checked the other camerabrands and (this is not a putdown) but it seems that there are a lot of issues of malfunction and not near the examples of pictures as the Pana group.

Hey, I have my moments.

I had a tough time typing that reply though, every time I would look at that first picture I would loose it. I almost spit coffee on my keyboard once.
In fact I am considering changing my avatar to the old biddy, you know to reflect my feminine side

Ok... Back to the real issue... Noise...

I have taken a sound meter to a camera store that carries every Lumix model. I measured the sound levels of each camera snapping a shot. The noise levels are about the same on all.

This issue is resolved...
