I decided to take a shot at the Moon tonight after work. I put the camera on my cheap Wal-mart tripod, turned off the OIS, and set the self timer to let the tripod quit shaking before the picture was taken. The first shot is at 12x and the second is using the digital zoom at the full 48x. I have resized them to 800x600 so they will load faster.

Treasuredude,

Nice shot of the Moon. Good detail, and not too over or under exposed.

All of the FZ's seem to be able to handle a wide range of photographic situations.

Well done.

Nice shots Treasuredude. Did you use a tripod?

I used a cheap tripod I picked up at Wal-Mart a few years ago. It would wobble when i pressed the shutter so I used the self timer. I set it for 10 seconds and that was enough time for the wobbling to settle down.

From posts I have read, it works better with the OIS off if mounted to a tripod.

Treasuredude,

I took this shot during the last lunar cycle and then it hit me...

So, that's why they call it "Getting Mooned"
