Dang, Nick, you paint quite a picture. Now I'm daydreamin' too, and not about the sheep....

Oh, yes --> I've had the FZ20 for about 2 months, over 1000 shots and still love it. I haven't seen anything that comes close in this price rangefor the quality of pics and type of photography that interests me -- nature, especially animals that often have to be shot froma distance. The high-quality, fastLeica zoom lenswith OIS gives the camera great performance and versatility in a relatively lightweight package that does notrequire carrying/changing a bunch of lenses.

That being said, I've taken about half of the 1000 pictures in my wife's classroom, helping her with school projects! It works equally well there.Can zoom in on students from a distance without making them nervous. The burst mode helps with group shots --Murphy's law says that someone will always blink if you take only 1 ... or only 10 shots.

Then there's the macros .... Anyway I could go on and on. I'm very happy with it, mainly for sharp shots and versatility.
