These are terrific... very detailed. You know I'm partial, but what I keep noticing is that the moon pictures taken with the FZ-1 seem to have more detail, contrast, and look less processed than those I've seen taken with the 20 or the 15.

Both are great shots - though, and that's not to take anything away from either camera.

Thanks Nick,
I love both my camera's but I have to say that the little FZ1 has some magic inside it. It's really incredible for a 2 megapixel camera. They both take beautiful pictures! I guess each camera has its own high points. My hats off to Panasonic!

I wonder what kind of picture the FZ1 would produce if it had the updated venus engine in it?

Thanks bobc for the settings info! These did turn out better than the first ones.

I would like to see an IR moon shot with the FZ1.

I think it would be awesome...

Oh... I agree. I have no idea how that would look. Problem is that ir requires a lot of light, and you probably need a camera with a "Bulb" setting, which leaves the "shutter" open indefinitely 10, 15, 20, seconds or all day long, until you depress the trigger again. I think you would need that to capture sufficient light for an intelligible image. That ir self portrait, as an example, had a shutter speed of 8 seconds - the slowest ss on the FZ-1, with an ir filter in a pretty well-lit room filled with natural light.

Again, you know my bias... but that's a good way to put it. There's just something about this particular camera.
