Thanks a lot guys. It seems its a very warm and helpful bunch of geniuses lurking in the crannies of this forum. Glad to be here guys.

Jazzmaster,

your kingfisher is a smasher.

bobc,

you got a great gallery going. I got lost wandering therein.

smac,

your Bee is not a 'B' but 'A+++' and the coins may mean some serious changein the market.

Willow1,

Now there you have got a determined little fellow for your grandson.

and when slipe and nick say that this camera is good, who am I to challenge.

BTW,I don'tknow if my praise of the pictures means anything to you, Docs of the Trade, but I am convinced that I have got a winner. Not only the camera but also the bunch of users.

Shot this one today. These berries are smaller than peas.

I'm in same boat - had my camera 2 days - none of mine look anything like these posted ones - I should have just started visiting these sites and postings and not bothered to buy a camera - very discouraged.

These pics are all terrific!

Keep in mind the camera you have is not a simple point and shoot camera. The FZ1 model has that kind of setting but does not get anywhere near the potential of what the camera can do.

It will take some time and practice to get those kinds of shots if you are a total newbie. No need to get discouraged. The more you shoot, the more you learn. The great part about the digital format versus film is the instant feedback you get from the pictures you take.

Anyone that has an FZ knows it is not a perfect camera and none are, but what you have is possibly one of the finest cameras made. It covers the broadest range from macro to zoom. The pictures as you have seen are possible with the camera you have.

Stick with it and look at the settings posted. Give them a try and see what you come up with.
