These are very small blooms on a jade plant. The plant is 15 years old and this is the first time it has bloomed. I used the FZ20 with a canon 250D close-up lens to take 70 shots in different modes with and without flash. These are the best I got. None of these are in macro mode. Could someone tell methe best set up for pictures like these only better.

I love #3 of course.

Ok, indoor with this type of shot which is not too high a ratio, I would get rid of the flash idea and use 2 small bedside lamps at about 75 - 100 watts each. Set the whitebalance to suit the lamps. Now with the lamps its possible to move them around, set and play with the F/stops and shutter speeds. The lamps also allow for lighting the background, so just have a good play with those.

Flash works great if we are after larger ratios and magnifications, bounced flash is the best for this IMHO. For a shot like you are after there though, I use lamps.

All the best and I hope you get what you are after and post it up for us to seethem:|

Danny.

Thank you for the reply Danny. I looked at your page of potos and they are wonderful! This is a new hobby for me and I see I have a lot to learn. I'm going to play with some lights and try for better shots. Thanks again.
