Taken at full res and they are full frame. Set FZ10 to high sequnce. F/5.6, 1/850th and fast moving nutter behind it :-)

Coming from the east it starts low and glides beautifully. Very smooth to watch are hoverflies.

Slowly starts to gain altitude, its targeting in ona perch

Climbing higher it its homing to more height.

Its spotted a perch it likes the look of. Wings beating so fast we can hardly see them.

Just gliding on in to the perch.

And then the FZ10 ran out of shots :-)

I've got another sequence of this particular little hover fly, coming at us head on with 4 shots. I'll sort those out and post them tomorrow.

All the best Panasonic-ites, don't let anyone tell you the FZ's are slow.

Danny.

How did you do that...

I thought those birds where hard to pan. I could never pan something like that. Great work.

Excellent shots Danny!

Do you use MF to shoot it? How did you manage to get it all (except 3rd one) in focus????

Thanks for posting!

Hey thanks folks :-)you are a great bunch.

tchuanye, good eye my friend :-). Always MF, I tried spot focus once but it drove me nuts, LOL. With macro, selective focus is a must and its something autofocus can't do. Never used autofocus with the old 35mm either. Old habit :-)

Just panned folks. It was interesting in that a burst at 1/850th gave5 shots. The next sequence with the same settings only gave 4 shots :roll:and I'm not too sure why. If it was different shutter speeds I could understand it.

Anyway, thanks again folks it is appreciated.

Danny.

Absolutley magnificent, incredible, great, brilliant, what else can a person say. as some-one said here, you've raised the notch up a few more levels, gives all an inspiration to try and try again.
