Does the FZ3 record sound in the still mode? I see in the specs that it has a microphone. I am considering buying the Kodak DX7590 or the FZ3 . Any input?

It does... yes, it's in the manual, although I haven't tried it yet (just got mine a few days ago).

Oh yeah... definitely get the FZ3 over the 7590... much sharper pictures. For me, that's what sealed the deal. Yes, I was tempted with the 7590 too with its 5 MP and big, fat LCD... but swayed away when I saw the pic comparisons on the "comparometer". FZ3 wins hands down.

BTW, I don't know what Kodak was thinking putting a 10x optical zoom on a camera withOUT image stabilization.
