It's a Turkey Vulture. You can tell by the naked (featherless) red head.
The lack of feathers keeps parasites from hitching a ride while they are feeding.

This guy was just circling my wife and dog and I today on our walk down a bike path. He was about 100-150 feet up.

Nice capture of the birds...!

I dunno how you guys capture pics of birds....I have yet to take one that is sharp and in focus....need to learn from you all!

Tan, on this shot I used "multiple" () metering mode and Spot-focussing with the camera set on P- Program AE mode. I was at 12X zoom, half pressed the shutter button until the focus locked and then I held my breathe and tried to put the subject in the center of the view screen. I have about a one in ten success rate this way. I am trying to get better too. Just keep shooting.
