I was looking around for a spare battery for the FZ20.

I have found one but it specifically says "For FZ1" although the Code - CGA S002E and 7.2V and 680mA is the same as that specified for the FZ20.

I was wondering whether i can use this battery in the FZ20? And whether there will be any side effects? Like shorter battery life etc?

Any help in this matter would be appreciated.

Yes, you can use the Fz1 battery for Fz20
I have Fz1 and Fz10, my friend has Fz20. We use the same battery.

Yes, you can use this battery. I suspect that the package said "For use in the FZ1" and didn't mention the FZ20 is that it was packaged before the release of the FZ3/15/20, which all take the same battery as the FZ1/FZ2.
