Watching the 11:00 PM news. What's the number 1 story? The freeek'n weather!!! All that going on in the world... the #1 story is the weather. It's December, it gets cold. It's (unofficially) winter. 5 minutes of shivering reports on the street telling you how cold they are. An interview with someone who is cold. Stay tuned for the Weather at 11:20 so we can tell you again that it's cold, inside the studio with fancy computer graphics that animate "the passing cold front". It get's cold in these parts in December for millions of years. Grrrrr... always hated local newsless news.

Sorry... venting. I now return you to your regularly scheduled program/forum topic:

... lumixes
... photography
... moon shots
... serial killer paranoia
... the proper way to hold a firearm
... close-up macros of insect's pupils
... how people say "check mate" while playing chess in Australia
.. double ententres about sheep
... midget wrestlers
... repeat questions about the Phayee adapter
... if the lenses on these cameras are really Leicas.
... "best Lumic camera" pissing contests.

... etc, etc, etc.

... and some excellent photography samples from "...the usual gang of idiots"

Night all.

lol, i've been wondering for a while...where is 'malta'? you made a reference to new yorkin one post...i think...but, if you're near new york, i have my doubts the biggest news story is the weather

It is true though, Nick, in NYC if we get an inch of snow with gusting winds it is a snow storm. The good news is that people stay off the roads. I used to have a Pathfinder soI would go out in it all. The news sensationalizes everything, they have nothing better to do. I follow Dr. Andrew Weil's philosophy and go on "News fasts" where I don't read the paper or watch the news for weeks. So.... back to those homicidal midget serial killers......

It's Philly news, man. They're like the Cocco Puffs bird with weather. I thought it was me, then a friend of mine - who worked at J Walter Thompson, moved from NYC to this area. I asked him how he's adjusting to being able to own a car AND park on the street, own a nice home IN the city for 1/2 of what he was paying in rent, etc., etc. (...don't get me wrong - love New York City but I don't know how people can afford to live there...) And he said, "...what's up with the news around here, all they talk about is the weather!"
