The Unofficial Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ1 and DMC-FZ2 FAQ has found a new home.

This is a work in progress so suggestions are welcome.

...thought I might add that this site is an absolutely invaluable resource for all things FZ-1, FZ-2 related. Excellent, excellent site if you own this camera. Alex really did his homework and did a fantastic job. Recommended reading for any "Lumies" but especially FZ-1(/2) owners, and those considering this camera.

Edit--------> as fmoore mentions below, Thank you! (Rude of me for not mentioning the 1st time.

I'd like to add my thanks to Alex for taking on this task and doing such a splendid job of making it available to everyone.

The FAQ is now in PDF format.

But since I just had to have something Microsoft-specific in it :blah:, I included a link to Christophe Vlaminck's excellent DOF calculation spreadsheet.

Other than that, no major additions at this time.

As usual, suggestions are welcome.

Best wishes,
Alex.

No suggestions but I am thankful for the work put into this and that it is available for people that own or hopefull will have a chance to own a revolutionary camera. This one started the FZ series and it has been one hard act to follow.

Thanks so much for having done this and sharing.

Hi guys, Wanted your opinon, In Malaysia, I noticed they have suddenly have a large stock of FZ2 dumping at RM 899 ~ USD 240. Is this a good buy? Seeing that it is a discontinued model with newer models out now.

The newer Panasonic models here are price at FZ 20 at RM 2,499, LZ2 at RM1,299, FZ 5 at RM 1,799. Just because my country's currency is pegged at USD at a 3.8 rate, buying anything made overseas is such an expensive investement.

Was eyeing the new Canon S2 but with the expected release price of RM 2,099.. its still rather expensive.... imagine buying a camera which cost two thirds my monthly salary!

Are you FZ 2 users happy with it? Not too many online reviews but I have read on ppl complainging on low light focussing, weak flash etc. Any comments?

That sounds like a good deal. I have FZ1 and FZ2, and I'm not about to upgrade. The only real issue, as you say, is the weak flash.

I would definitely take advantage of the Z2...I have the FZ1v2 and it's awesome ! I personally don't mind the so called "weak" flash as I HATE overblown portraits. Btw, are they "like new" and in stylish black color?

Is there a way for us US based FZ1/2 enthusiasts to get ahold of one of these cameras?
