Does anyone actually own a Panasonic len's. If so, is it really worth the extra money compared to the other's. I don't know if I like the idea of not being able to attach a lens hood.

Do a search. I think Nancy Gabby owns a Panasonic and a Raynox.

Welcome to the forum, Quick Cal.

You have not indicated the cam you are using but there is a 3x Canon tele that will work with the FZ10/20 (if you have one of those cams).

Canon TL-55

Look for them on the net!

If you budget is limited, like I do, I would recommend the lens for Yashica Electro 35 GTN. That's a 55mm 1.3x lens, selling on ebay around $20 for wide&tele. Those are heavy old glass units which lasts. (They are older than me...)

QuickCal,

I think (and hope) I am getting this lens for Christmas. My understanding is this lens is better than the others. Included with the lens is asupport bracket that moves the tripod mounting hole to a more balanced position.

The following is an excerp from Shene's FZ10 Users Guide about the Panasonic lens:
Quote:
In summary, this DMW-LTZ10E is a wonderful teleconverter lens and is better to much better than other teleconverter lenses that I have used on a FZ-10.
Check out some pictures and his review of the lens at:

http://www.cs.mtu.edu/~shene/DigiCam/index.html

Even though the lens does not appear to be threaded on the end for a hood, with a little work I think I can make an adapter to hold a hood and UV filter.
